28,000 businessmen of Agra filed GST returns, now those depositing are going to be fined
Near about 28,000 businessmen with a turnover of up to Rs 5 crore in Agra filed 3B returns of good and services tax (GST). Sunday was the last date for filing it. There was a provision for late fees and interest just in case of delay.
As of July 5, the GST monthly return for the March 2020 period was 3B. This was followed by a late fee of Rs 50 per day and a maximum of Rs 500. alongside this, there was also interest at the speed of nine percent on the tax payable. To avoid this, returns were filed.
According to the state GST department, about 40 thousand dealers are registered with them. Out of that, 70 percent ie 28 thousand dealers have filed returns. Whereas the date of filing of returns for the month of April is 9th July.
