In a letter to the Prime Minister, the organization said that e-commerce companies should not be allowed to sell goods worth more than Rs 5,000 crore.
A national association of businessmen wrote a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi urging him to intervene to help overcome the coronavirus crisis. The organization has suggested several measures to help the traders in the letter. This includes the imposition of a limit on the sale price of e-commerce companies.
The Federation of All India Trade Chambers said that after the meeting of its representatives in 17 states, it decided to seek intervention from the Prime Minister in the interest of 6.5 crore traders.
In a letter to the Prime Minister, the organization said that e-commerce companies should not be allowed to sell goods worth more than Rs 5,000 crore. This limit has been written in the letter for e-Commerce companies.
Business Secretary National Secretary VK Bansal said that this provision is necessary for traders of electronic goods, mobile phones, computers, and laptops, whose business has been greatly affected by the arrival of e-commerce companies.
The letter also states that merchants should be given service provider status and they should be allowed to apply for Udyog Aadhaar Card so that they can avail the loan facility to small and micro units/service providers at six percent interest. That loan which is going to help in generating goods and product for starting micro-units. These production units are closed due to COVID 19 lockdown.
The Board of Trade also advocated the introduction of a single system of GST system, in which the entire rate should be taken at the level of the manufacturers.
