GST portal capacity increased, three lakh returns can be filled in an hour
Since the introduction of products and Services Tax (GST), the portal was often a serious hurdle in filing returns. thanks to this, many traders were bereft of filing returns on time. Now the capacity of GST portal has been doubled. which can allow three lakh returns to be filed in an hour. this is often expected to assist traders to some extent in filing returns.
There are about 1.30 crore registered merchants in GST across the country and about 75 thousand in Prayagraj zone. This includes about 45 merchants within the State GST and 30 thousand merchants within the Central GST. Traders need to file GSTR-3B, quarterly GSTR-1 and GSTR-9 returns annually. The last date for filing the monthly return is 20 and therefore the last date for quarterly return is about 30. Earlier GST portal had the capacity to file one and a half lakh returns in an hour, he was often wont to reply within the last days. Sometimes thanks to server down or sometimes thanks to other reasons, many traders were unable to return the returns within the stipulated time. Therefore, business organizations are demanding from the govt and GST Council for an extended time to extend the capacity of the portal. Their demand is now fulfilled. Late fee system should be finished by 31 December.
Failure to file returns on maturity, traders need to pay late fees of Rs 50 per day. at the present, late fees are being charged for filing returns for the months of May and June. in sight of Corona’s increasing transition, traders have demanded the govt to finish the late fee system by 31 December. Statement–
Increasing the capacity of the portal will help merchants to some extent in filing returns. Sometimes the market closes thanks to Corona rising. Traders also become quarantined. during this case, the late fee system should be abolished by 31 December.
