Take advantage of the relief from GST
Those who haven’t filed returns since the introduction of GST, such people can now do that work with a late fee of 500 rupees. After the lockdown, the GST Council has given an opportunity to the businessmen that those people also can fill the returns, whose registration has been cancelled. Earlier there was a facility to submit returns within one month of the cancellation of registration, but now the GST Council has provided relief in it.
Commissioner CGST Lalan Kumar said that from July to September, there’s a far better chance of filing GST returns. In this, traders also can file zero returns. Late fees were charged at Rs 100 per day for late filing of returns, but the GST Council has provided the power of filing returns since GST came into force by paying only Rs 500 late fee. In some cases, only late fees of Rs 250 are going to be charged and therefore the rest is going to be waived.
He said that the GST Council is continuously simplifying and relief has been provided to those that filed returns till September. Since July 2017, traders who haven’t filed returns for any reason can submit their returns.
You can also file returns by sending messages.
Traders who haven’t traded nor produced within the lockdown can file a return of zero. For this, the GST Council has made an easy rule. Just enter GSTN number and write zero (NIL) to 14409 and your return is going to be filed. It also doesn’t require login ID or any advisor. For information associated with the scheme, CGST are often restricted at Sanjay Place’s office or by telephone number 0562-2521185, 0562-2850292.
