According to the Finance Secretary Ajay Bhushan Pandey has said that the correct picture on the data of Goods and Services Tax (GST) collection for the month of April will be available only till June 30. The deadline for filing GST returns for April is up to this date for units with turnover up to Rs 5 crore. In March, the government had extended the deadline to submit GST returns for taxpayers with a turnover of more than Rs 5 crore from March 20 to 15 May from April 5. If the return is submitted after May 5 by June 30, then interest will be reduced at the rate of nine percent. Units with turnover up to five crore rupees will be charged with no interest and late fees will be waived if they submit returns by the June fixed limit.
