Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana: An Initiative to Secure Pregnancy
The most precious moment in any woman’s life is when she takes her newborn baby in her arms. But giving birth is daunting for many in a country like India due to poor health.
As per data from NFHS, 57.0 per cent of Indian females from 15-49 years are anaemic. 59.1 per cent of adolescent girls are anaemic. 52.2 per cent of women between the age group of 15-49 have anaemia.
Other factors can cause stress in pregnant women such as financial condition. Many women continue to work just after their pregnancy due to their economical situation.
After childbirth, all pregnant women need maximum care and support for a few weeks. The right care and treatment give the best results!
Keeping these factors in mind, the Indian Government started Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY) in India.
